Proscaline, or 3,5-dimethoxy-4-propyloxyphenethylamine, belongs to phenethylamine class, characterized by a phenyl ring connected to an -NH2 group via an ethyl chain. It consists of two functional groups: CH3O- (a group attracted to carbon atoms R3 and R5) and an additional propyloxy group at carbon R4 in the phenyl ring.
